Members were really pleased to see our new Clinical Nurse Specialist for prostate cancer, Sara Fawcitt, at our February group meeting. Sara has just been appointed by the North Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust and is our new liaison nurse.

Sara qualified in 2007 and worked as a district nurse for a year before moving into Oncology at The Royal Free, a major teaching hospital in London.. She stayed there for 9 years, working in Prostate Clinical Trials, Urology and Oncology.

Sara moved back down to Winchester where she grew up to be closer to family and has started one of her own in the last couple of years. She worked as a chemotherapy nurse from 2016 until early 2019 when she joined Hampshire Hospitals as the Advanced Prostate Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Sara aims to make sure patients have access to high quality and timely information and support to optimise their journey through the cancer services in Hampshire.

Sara was joined by Basingstoke’s Mayor, Cllr Sean Keating, for our photo gallery.

Members extend a big and warm welcome to Sara and look forward to seeing her at future meetings.
